Learn how to make keepsake quilts using old T-Shirts with Kari. This class takes up A LOT of classroom space as you have to lay out your T-shirts all over the place! We recommend at least 15-20 shirts, the more the better so you have options. Because of the space constriction, we will only have 3 spots per class but we will continue to offer this class so if you don’t get signed up this time, no worries! Just keep collecting those shirts. This will be a 2 to 3 class series that will involve “homework.” Yes, I said homework! On the first day of class you will learn about interfacing, planning and cutting your T-shirts for your top. You will work together and then finish up the cutting at home. The next classes will be spent constructing your top and answering any questions you ran across working at home. When you are finished with class you will have a fully constructed quilt top! You will then need to send it off to be quilted by a long arm quilter or you will have to quilt it on your home machine or hand tie it to make it complete.
When coming to class, bring your sewing machine and these supplies (all supplies available for purchase at the shop)
-SEVERAL yards of interfacing, you will be shocked at how much you use. The amount will depend on the size of your quilt top and amount of T-shirts you end up using
-Minimum of 15 T-shirts, more recommended
-Rotary Cutter and Large Ruler (the shop has some available for use as well)
-Basic sewing notions (seem ripper, pins, extra needles, thread, etc)
-Large fabric scissors
Class fee: $40 per session
